? WHAT IS #Junicorn2017 ?
For the month of June 2017 I created one of a kind unicorn drawings all month long! Its called #junicorn , a monthly themed challenge to celebrate and engage with the online fantasy art community. Specifically, I explored and expanded the lore of unicorns within my own IP, a magical world called "Terratoff"
"Unicorns represent a plethora of meanings across many cultures, for this piece I decided to create another version of the age old relationship between
unicorns and women. Often a symbol of love, unicorns and maidens have been represented together in art time and time again.
In my narrative here, the "Mother of Unicorns" tends to and prepares the unicorn for the day he will meet his beloved maiden, at which time the mother will relinquish the Unicorns golden chain to his beloved. From then on they belong to each other. I wanted the mother to appear regal and pure to mirror the majesty and innocence of the unicorn.
In Terratoff, these women are known as “Unicorn Maidens”. They dedicate their life to caring for the herd, in exchange the unicorns bless her with vitality and healing magic."
! THE PROCESS !
This was a digital painting made with Photoshop CS5.5, Check out my process via my Terratoff Tumblr here:

simply.. amazing ! wonderful !!
Thank you so so much! <3
it is very cute :з
I have often wondered why it's Girls Only. Why could not Unicorn Stallions bless Boys?
I think because in traditional unicorn lore the relationship between unicorn and women is a metaphor for hetero men's relationship with women. Hetero men usually value virginity (maiden) and the unicorn's horn represents...well...you know ;D
This is so beautiful! I love your technique!
what a lovely, fluffy piece <3
Wow, gorgeous! I love the tones of the colors you used, and I love how classical this portrait looks.
Beautiful and adorable!
